Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Entry-Level Parking Lot Striping Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for parking lot striping projects, including line painting, pavement marking, and related services. You will work with senior estimators, project managers, and clients to analyze project specifications, review site conditions, and generate proposals for both small and large-scale parking lot striping projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Estimating: Collaborate with senior estimators to review project plans, drawings, and specifications for parking lot striping work. Help calculate material and labor costs required for each project.
Measure and Analyze Job Sites: Attend job site visits (when required) to assess conditions and take measurements of areas to be striped, ensuring that all dimensions and details are accurately recorded for estimates.
Prepare Cost Estimates: Generate estimates for parking lot striping projects, including paint, stencils, traffic markings, curb painting, and any additional services. Factor in material costs, labor, equipment, and any other relevant factors.
Collaborate with Clients: Communicate with clients to understand their project needs, specifications, and requirements. Provide cost estimates based on these discussions and assist in answering any questions they may have about the project.
Project Proposal Preparation: Assist in the creation of detailed project proposals and bid packages. Help prepare and submit quotes to clients, ensuring all details are clearly outlined.
Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of all estimates, project details, and communications. Ensure that estimates align with the scope of work and contractual agreements.
Work with Vendors and Suppliers: Research and obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for materials (e.g., paint, stencils) and services needed for striping projects.
Support Project Management: Provide ongoing support during the execution of projects to ensure that estimates and plans align with actual job performance. Assist in tracking costs, schedule adherence, and project delivery.
Estimate Revision: Adjust estimates based on scope changes, unforeseen conditions, or additional client requests. Ensure all estimates reflect the most up-to-date and accurate information.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A background in construction, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Experience: No previous experience required, but any background in construction, parking lot striping, estimating, or project coordination is an advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software. Familiarity with estimating software or project management tools is a plus (training can be provided).
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to review plans, take measurements, and accurately calculate material and labor requirements.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities with strong attention to detail.
Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems when estimating projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external clients/vendors, while also demonstrating self-sufficiency when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the parking lot striping industry, including common materials, tools, and processes.
Estimating Software: Experience with estimating software such as Planswift, or similar tools is a plus but not required.
Basic Construction Knowledge: Understanding construction principles, particularly in the realm of paving and striping, is beneficial.
